Pavillon Ledoyen Paris

I do not go often to Michelin star restaurants but this was kind off not my own choice. Couple of year back I had a bet with the friend of mine when we were working together on project in London and I have lost..Strangely enough we cannot remember what was that all about (my suspicion is that it had something to do with my, at that time, exciting private life). I was supposed to pay for lavish dinner at Fat Duck but we could not get the timing right being on the different sides of Europe and later there was a famous temporary closure of the restaurant so we decided that we will do it somewhere else in Europe.
In February 2013 we were working on project in Paris so I let him choose the restaurant - his choice was Ledoyen, three Michelin star reputed place, located in Champs-Elysee....classy, what can I say.
Overall it was a good experience; both of us coincided in opinion that we would prefer a restaurant where they fuss less around you and a little bit less classic. However we went on expensive side and have chosen the menu to indulge ourselves. On start we had best champagne I have ever tasted in my life, sadly enough cannot remember the name. Apart from mysterious, strange tasting balls filled with apparently something with truffles (again both thought it tasted horribly strange ….maybe we are just not sophisticated enough). All dishes were perfectly balanced and crowned with three different, fantastic deserts. Champagne, wine, great food this hedonistic extravaganza was costly, maybe a little bit more than it should be, but certainly memorable
